Enjoy an authentic organic DUROC ham from pigs raised in freedom on the farms of the Gil family. Fed with the fruits of the holm oaks and certified organic cereal in the mountains of La Rioja. The feeding and handling, 100% free, achieve a spectacular fat infiltration. In addition, the meat achieves a bright color with intense toasted tones.

It is a fatty ham of 100% DUROC breed that is used in the Iberian sector to be crossed with Iberian mothers and obtain 50% Iberian acorn-fed ham.

In this case, it is a large piece, 9-10kgs that gives a great performance, a good cutter can reach up to 4kgs of lean sliced.

With a minimum of 20 months of curing, to obtain this 100% DUROC organic ham, only pigs from the Gil Family farms in La Rioja are used. After the cutting of the animal, each ham is massaged to be salted later and dried in a natural cellar in the Riojan municipality of....

The 100% organic ham DUROC Luis Gil is characterized by its aroma, to the point of salt with a consistency on the palate full of juiciness. The aromatic herbs derived from a diet of fruits of the holm oak in freedom with certain sweet flavors are discovered. The aftertaste is long-lasting and very pleasant to the palate.

Luis Gil ham has been awarded the silver medal for the best organic ham by the Spanish Union of Tasters of Spain 2009

Elaboration of organic sausages

Since 1920 Luis Gil produces artisan and ecological Iberian products. They already had in the family years ago with a village butcher shop and together with the shepherd's trade the family tradition was continued in the elaboration of artisanal sausages.

Later generations professionalized the family tradition by creating the sausage factory with the name honoring grandfather Luis.

At present, with the fourth generation of the family fully involved in the family business, an ambitious project has been launched that allows them to produce organic sausages and fresh meats from their own exploitation of animals raised in total freedom and in an ecological way, in harmony with nature and man.

El Encinar de Ocón' is located in Valle de Ocón (La Rioja - Spain), where duroc pigs are raised in harmony in a leafy woodland of holm oaks and oaks surrounded by a privileged environment with a healthy meat, of high quality, outdoors feeding on pastures and roots counting on a 100% organic diet.

Algo más caro pero me gusta comer algo criado con una alimentación ecológica. Pone que se alimentan de bellota y cereales producidos por ellos mismos
